It took a while but I finally got a clear photo of the Little Wizard

He is a wiggle bug, that's for sure. Merlin has been a part of the family for 2 weeks, now. He's healthy, active, loves to chew on my hand and is endlessly cute. I am magically smitten with this kitten.

Aptly named, I'm sure there is some wizardry involved!

Is he short in body length, or it is just the way he is sitting?

Don't know why I just thought of this, but "The three little kittens, they lost their mittens," By Mother Goose, came to mind.
Used to recite that to my kids in their baby days, now some 50 years ago.

Kids and kittens, they grow up too fast!

I read the book when I was in school and it was before Harry Potter. But I loved the whole wizard idea. This little wizard is looking very cool and healthy

This makes me want to adopt another cat. I had five cats for many years. Two have died in the past couple of years. They were both over 15 years old. The litter mate of one of them is still going strong at almost 18 years old. I think the three cats I have would accept a kitten (or maybe even an older cat) into the clan. I know our local Humane Society has plenty of cats to adopt. The hard part would be picking one and not bringing them all home!

9. I remember when I was choosing between Gryff and his sister

She was quite shy but an absolutely beautiful caramel colored little girl. I knew she'd have no problem finding a forever home.

Gryff was black as night. I know black cats are often overlooked. He melted in my arms, the moment I picked him up. The look he gave me sealed the deal.

A couple of days later I checked with the vet. If the little girl was still there I was going to take her but she got adopted right after I took Gryff home.

I think Gryff and I were just meant to be.

I think it was something like .05 lb. I just weighed him and he's at about 9oz so still very small for his age but otherwise seems to be fine. I can definitely see changes in his development, which seems right on time. His ears are MUCH more upright. His teeth are definitely in so I really want to switch him from a bottle to some slurry. He likes pate but it's a real trick to get him to understand how to eat it. He just plows across the dish.

This is one kitten I will continue to worry about, though. His feeding schedule is now when ever he wants to eat. I'm so very glad I found him when I did. I doubt he would have lasted until morning.
