Related: About this forumBatty is so tiny.

Batty was eating some of the tortoise grass I grow for her. Not sure what type of grass it actually is. I threw away the box so can't check now. BTW I thought about Mario for a name also since she has a M at the back.

(20,144 posts)I don't know a lot about sulcata tortoises (aka African spurred toirtoises), but I found this info online: "The African spurred tortoise is the largest mainland tortoise, easily reaching 30 inches (76 centimeters) in length and well over 100 pounds (45 kilograms) in heft. Some males even reach 200 pounds (90 kilograms)! It is surpassed only by the island dweller tortoises from Aldabra and Galápagos." https://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/african-spurred-tortoise
It's amazing to look at that little critter in your hand and realize she could grow up to be this big!

(3,767 posts)Little bitty bites. She’ll take a bite, put her leg on it and pull off a piece. We’ve had some good rain lately so I’m going out dandelion flower hunting. They’re supposed to love them and they’re good for them.
