Carys surprised me this morninng

Lately she's been very reclusive. I don't even see her at meal time. Until this morning, that is. She appeared as I was getting ready to dish out the food. Merlin made the mistake of wandering too close to her bowl and she let out a sound that was a cross between a growl and a meow but she didn't hiss or swat. I moved Merlin to his dish and all was well.

She stuck around, for quite a while, waiting for me to mix the outdoor kid cat's breakfast because she loves the pate I mix with their kibble. Then she let me give her a series of slow blinks and even sing her song.

She's now back down the mystical cat portal but I'll keep hoping she will come back out.

I'm off to buy more kibble and maybe stop at Aldi to see if they have those amazing candy cane sandwich cookies in stock. Even if I don't celebrate Christmas, I do look forward to some of the once a year treats associated with the day.
