Believe it or not, I got a new photo of Carys!

She's been eating with the boys, more and more often. She still low growls at Merlin but he ignores her and even starts eating from the dish right next to her. She did give me a few semi-slow blinks and sniffed at my hand. I even snuck in a couple of quick scritches. I was so happy to see her that I almost burned my dinner.

What else can you do but take her on her own terms?

The very first pregnant feral that the Tiny Kittens organization in Vancouver trapped and cared for until her kittens were adopted was especially ferocious, and was initially returned to the colony TK manages. They called her Sloane/Sloaney. A year later, she did a 180, decided human beings were not so bad after all, and became a house cat.

Here is here TK bio:

She just showed up one day and I fell in love. It took a while before I got smart enough to win her over (sardines) but she finally came on the back porch and got in the carrier.

The vet had to give her a sedative on her first trip but she proved to be a very sweet cat. I think she was sweet all along. She just needed to find her person.

Calico cats are so beautiful to me.

Thanks so much for sharing this story, 3catwoman3.

It's based in Vancouver, BC, and is a 501c run by an American woman, Shelley Roach. Her life's mission is to improve the quality of life for feral cats and to educate the world about the value of these cats.

They have a very lively chat room, well moderated, with participants from all around the world. When the kittens from the feral moms are ready for adoption, many of the TK followers send very thoughtful and generous gift packages to TK for the adopters to take home when they come to get their new family members.

I have in the past, spent many hours on this site. In these coming 4 years, I should probably go back there more regularly.
