I opened some belated holiday gifts last night and Bee was very happy to help. I assumed the noises would scare him but he was right in there, inspecting everything, especially the boxes and tissue paper.
Screen shot from a video of shaking a festively wrapped packet of treats (turned out to be freeze dried duck liver, which they loved).
My handsome boy.
Fifi is a kitchen supervisor, which I appreciate, but I kept tripping on her because she blends in with the rug. Last night I put a bed in there and she loves it! Every time we've been in there today she's gone right to her bed. The kitchen is over the garage so the wood floor is chilly which just dawned on me last night. Happy we found a solution.
ADD: We are making dinner right now and she's so happy. 🥰

(47 posts)Bee is a handsome, fluffy boy! He looks smart. Fifi reminds me of Siwsan's Merlin. It's so cute how she likes her little bed; I know cats like things that are just their size. Thank you for posting these photos; they really made me smile!

(5,309 posts)but hes a simple guy.
I didnt realize it until Fifi was here. Shes sharp as a tack.
He is so sweet and I love him so much
and I had to untangle him from a paper bag with a twine handle last night lol.
It might be how he lived before I adopted him. The shelter was vague and mentioned possible animal hoarding so I assumed he was bullied by other cats. But after getting to know him, I think he was left alone in a cage or a room. My poor little guy. He never needs to worry about that again. Hes very slowly coming out of his shell and Fifis natural exuberance and confidence helps a lot. He is learning how to cat, and it brings me great joy to see the curious and happy expressions on his face.

(47 posts)I hate to hear of any cat left alone in a cage or left alone anywhere, really. I'm so glad you adopted him and Fifi, too. I'm also glad he's coming out of his shell.
I used to tell my mother about my cats: "Holly, smart as a whip; Martini, dumb as a rock" and she would laugh every time I said it. But I found out, over the years, that Martini was nowhere nearly as dumb as she pretended to be. It was all an act. She has outsmarted me more times than I care to admit!

(5,309 posts)He is quite adept at getting whatever he wants and I only recognize his subtle maneuvering in hindsight.
