Related: About this forumCarys spent the WHOLE NIGHT on the bed!
At first she kind of draped herself over my ankles and stayed there, and right at my feet, all night! I was so shocked to see her still snoozing away, early this morning. This was an absolute first and I'm thrilled to bits.
She just walked in to the room to sniff around. None of the other kid cats are here so this is another first. She's never been a 'sniff around' kid cat, probably because she's been so anxious. Hopefully I'll have more good news, sooner rather than later.

so this development must be extra thrilling.
We adopted a brother-sister pair of Siamese mix kitties just over 2years ago. Our female tucked has been none too happy about this. She and the Siamese sister largely ignore each other, but the male and she spar several times a day - lots of growling and yowling from her, but no blood has been shed. I rather think she enjoys the battles because she is the instigator half the time, and almost never runs away.
Twice within the past few weeks, the frenemies have briefly napped together. If he curls up next to her after she is already asleep, she doesnt notice right away, and they will sleep beside each other for a short while. I hope to see more of this.

(6,807 posts)Dog is too old to get on the bed with me.
So at night she wanders about looking for somewhere to sleep.
So I pick her up, all 35 Kg, and put her on the bed with me.
Asleep within minutes.
I need to be awake in the morning before she wakes and needs to go outside for the backyard toilet and her breakfast.
She needs to be lifted off the bed.
But a big break in this routine this morning!
Opened my eyes, to be face to face with a very smug cat. Our ginger cat.
The cat, being majorly an outside shadow, hasn't done that for many months.
A good start to my day!
Yes, the dog and cat dictate the routine around here. I'm just their servant.
