I went out and bought an inflatable, soft collar. He's slipped it once, already, but I made some adjustments. This will keep him from licking the 'site' but also make it easier to eat and drink.
Another thing I noticed is if I put him in the playpen, he pretty frantically tries to get out. When he's free roaming, his activity level is much lower.

(14,814 posts)Good that you're letting him "roam" within reason...cats are so weird about being closed in at all. I know if they want to *be* somewhere, they don't know how to let up LoL the screaming and scratching always works!
