I was looking at taking Spanish at our community college. I was wondering about online

language courses. What program is best? Of course I've mostly heard of Rosetta Stone. The price for that was doable. I'm 59 and this would be my first foreign language attempt. I was good in school and I'm pretty good at sticking with stuff. I would also have a few chances to practice it with Spanish speaking friends occasionally.

I'd be interested in finding out, too. I've been flirting with the idea of learning French, it would help with my genealogy work. But, Rosetta Stone seems pretty costly to me.

2. I said the cost was doable, but I'm still thinking community college. I'm disabled, so I was

wondering if that was free. Who knows when classes might start up there again, or if I will feel safe going even then. I'm going to see if any of the regional schools have something like that starting up online. I kind of want something to do now. I'm an early riser and I have about everything I can accomplish done by nine. That's a lot of TV and gaming the rest of the day.

3. I use Rocket Language for Spanish

I like it. I tried Duo Lingo and Babel, but found Rocket more satisfying and suited to my learning style. Introductory lessons are free. And within a few days you'll start to get discount offers. It has fairly sophisticated voice recognition. Works better on my phone (Android) than my tablet (Asus Chromebook, also Android). I suspect the difference is due to a better microphone on the phone.

Lesson one -- Introductions and greetings
Lesson two -- I want, I need, I would like
etc.

No commercial connection, just a happy customer.
