Delbert F Juenemann

Last edited Sun Jan 11, 2015, 08:41 PM - Edit history (1)

Born and raised in Minnesota, he enlisted in the Army and served with the 1st Armored Division, 6th Infantry. Corporal Juenemann was just 22 years old when he was listed as MIA on November 08, 1942 during the invasion of North Africa.

Corporal Delbert F Juenemann is one of over 70,000 American servicemen who are still listed as MIA from WWII.

I have no personal connection with Corporal Delbert F Juenemann or his family. I was looking at a list of MIAs from that conflict and picked his name out by random and did some research on him.

Delbert Juenemann had married Irene M Reiner on September 29, 1941.

Edit; My guess is that anyone who knew Delbert Juenemann has passed away by now and he is now a name on a list with many others. Maybe some family relations occasionally talk about an uncle or great uncle who was sent overseas and never came back. If I find out anything more about this man who grew up in Brown County, Minnesota, married shortly before the attack on Pearl Harbor and disappeared on the first day of Operation Torch, I'll post it.

There is a marker in Brown County.

My best guess is that Irene remarried in 1946 and died 2009 in Redwood Falls.
