This is how discussions of racism between black people and white people tend to go

Black people: "Racism is a major problem in this context because of x, y, and z."

White people: "Geez, no one owes you a damn thing! Why don't you all stop being so sensitive and PC, quit using the Race Card, and take some personal responsibility for your lives!"

Black people: "Hey, what you are saying sounds racist - not cool!"

White people: "HOW DARE YOU CALL ME RACIST DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MANY BLACK FRIENDS I HAVE??!!!! YOU PEOPLE ARE THE REAL RACISTS!!!!!"

*rinse, repeat*

in a thread by MrScorpio yesterday. The poster said no one was forcing black people to stay here...if this county was so bad they should just leave. Ended it with "get on a plane, boy." While that example is extreme, I do think many white people, probably enthusiastic Trump supporters, really feel that they are "logical" in their thinking ("if you don't like it you can always leave&quot and I know many who believe that blacks are racists. It sure destroys any possibility of dialogue. I can assure you in that encounter, I just hit "alert" and made no attempt to engage that racist jerk.

But you're also generalizing a bit much.

And yeah, my white mom marched Selma to Montgomery.

"I'm not saying that racism isn't still a problem. It's just not the issue in THIS case . . .

Or in THIS one . . .

Or in THIS one . . .

FYI, you need to be careful about çrying 'wolf' so much because you're going to make harder for us to do anything about REAL racism when it actually happens ... Because racism is a problem, but it's just not happening HERE right NOW ...

We'll let you know when it happens. In the meantime, please be quiet."
