Obama gives a beautiful tribute to his family and friends.

Michelle – for the past twenty-five years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend. You took on a role you didn’t ask for and made it your own with grace and grit and style and good humor. You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. You’ve made me proud. You’ve made the country proud.

Malia and Sasha, under the strangest of circumstances, you have become two amazing young women, smart and beautiful, but more importantly, kind and thoughtful and full of passion. You wore the burden of years in the spotlight so easily. Of all that I’ve done in my life, I’m most proud to be your dad.

To Joe Biden, the scrappy kid from Scranton who became Delaware’s favorite son: you were the first choice I made as a nominee, and the best. Not just because you have been a great Vice President, but because in the bargain, I gained a brother. We love you and Jill like family, and your friendship has been one of the great joys of our life.

Love this man and his family they stabilized us in a world gone mad after Bush and party spiraled us downward into recession. On the brink of a depression they worked relentlessly to raise us up again. While Obama stabilized a downward slide. Michelle and daughters gave us a garden. Taught us nutrition and showed us how to move. The love and the laughter in a garden of children learning touching and feeling the delight in the wealth of reaping the benefit of what they sowed in that garden. You nurture and grow. You do that by caring. That is it. You sow. Then nurture and grow into a place where we can all reap the benefits.

Two families, Obama and Biden. All close friends, actually a family unit.

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

I love you Obama.

He was there bolstering our courage for what is to come. He told us how far we have come and how much more we can do. He won't be far away.

I love you sweets. Thank you so much.

but it was because of how sad this whole situation is. I wouldn't have been able to watch it without choking up. It's sad that we're about to go from one of the most intelligent, classy, and progressive presidents in history to a guy who is an absolute disgrace.

I doubt we'll see a man of his quiet dignity, his strength, his vision, and his insight again in our lifetimes. He will I think, occupy a major place in tomorrow's American history, and will be finally given the collective respect due him but denied in the here and now.

I've never been emotionally invested in any administration, but last night's farewell gave me hope that maybe we're not as bad off as a nation as we think...

I went through a box of Kleenex last night. What a beautiful family, who cried with us on national TV.

Can anyone imagine Dump making that speech? And speaking of him, he'd better keep his Twitter fingers quiet about that beautiful, inspiring speech.

I'm going to miss him more than I can possibly express.
