What are yours? Pubs? Parades? Church? None of the above?
Mine: in the morning, a (progressive) community breakfast in honor of the day, Irish music singalong (and play-along) at night. No trips to the pub.

Very interesting book.
St. Colum cille is said to be a much more powerful saint that John the Baptist according to this book.
After reading this for a bit, I may go out as I have two parties I've been invited too.
Maybe I'll wear my shirt that I got in Donegal a few years ago that has a large pint of Guinness on it that says, Does Size Matter?[/b} on it.
Cheers & a Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!!!

Since it's Sunday, I'll be attending Mass, where, hopefully, the choir will sing "The Irish blessing" as we leave.
My surname was the second most popular one in Ireland, and my father always celebrated with a local Irish club, though his family had arrived 5 generations before.
March 17 was also my spouse's birthday, so was remembered by friends and family.

(17,149 posts)Selections included "Boolavogue," "The Minstrel Boy," "Whiskey in the Jar," and "The Parting Glass." And there were some really good singers tonight.
On St. Patrick's Day itself I might finish watching Michael Collins.
