Would love to hear anyone else's experience with this book. It is going to stay with me - I didn't want it to end.
Am part way through Kafka on the Shore. I really love this writer!

(10,044 posts)Sad, scary, exciting, funny, whodunnit, and what's the title stand for - It's not IQ, it's 1Q?

(60,549 posts)Takes place in 1984 - alternating chapters of the two main characters. The characters are likable and beautifully developed....some seriously weird stuff happens. There are elements of mystery, spirituality, religion, cults, love, death, romance. it is a long book and unfolds patiently, and it creates its own world.
I can't describe why the title is 1Q84 - really, anything beyond what I've said would be a spoiler!
