The Almond Tree - I highly recommend this book

I gave it 5 stars, and this review...

The Almond Tree
Michelle Cohen Corasanti 2012

We meet 12 year old Ichmad living in Palestine in 1955, an extraordinary intellect trapped in poverty and barbed wire. His journey to the present is tragic and heart wrenching, his hopes for his family and his people forcing him to continue, never give up. M. Cohen Corasanti's wonderful descriptive writing absorbed me completely and broadened my views of the world and history. Very inspiring, I didn't want to put it down. Many lessons can be learned from Ichmad and his Baba.

I am always up for a great book.

Reading "Fall of Giants" by Ken Follett right now, and I am enjoying it a great deal. I will put this one on my "must read" list.
