Book: World Without Mind

World Without Mind
The Existential Threat of Big Tech
By: Franklin Foer
Penguin Press

I read this last night and it's a book worth a serious read. I'm not going to even try to editorialize on it; I wouldn't do it justice. It's the kind of thing you just need to make your own judgement about.

It answers a lot of questions and comments I see on this board often concerning media, social networking and big tech in general.

I don't want to post under "Reading/non-fiction" alone. It's broad enough and important enough that I think it should be GD.

Forget me, don't even comment if you don't want to... but check out the book. If you don't already know this content you need to.

There's a great deal of what I would call critical information about our personal presence on the net and how Internet choices we take for granted are undermining individuality, creativity and democracy. It sure puts Amazon, Facebook, Google and their founders into perspective. A worthy, well documented and artistic author who could have left me depressed instead left a subtle arrow pointing out.

I could go on but I don't want to spoil it. I'd love to hear your comments once your number rolls around.
