But sometimes I need a good scare. I think that the scariest non-fiction book is The Communist Manifesto. How many people died because of that book?

I'd go read about genocides and environmental doomsday books personally. Or do you mean scary as in how stupid and dangerous people are in America? Or scary as in maimed childhoods, Hitler or NASA space disasters? Scary as in disease or drugs? Serial killers, and rapists? Nixon? Flesh eating bacteria? Clowns?

Too much to account for. But I do say those books I just pointed you to are scary in one way or another.

If you want to learn about monsters, that might be neat. Insects are very interesting and deadly too. There's definitely more animals/insects you haven't heard of that are scary as hell. Reality is stranger than fiction after all.
