Exaggerated actions
An irrational cruelty of thought and deed
Why is it right to take down another
With uneven force?
Why is it good to kill and to maim
Slowly for laughs by the attacker?
We are but animals savage and mean
Cruelty at the center of our lives
We starve one another
We steal from one another
We kill father and mother
Sister and brother
Why do we allow this to go on?
When we don’t feel remorse for what we’ve done
So we can feel superior to the victim
So much useless refuse to be kicked aside
And we improve our standing
Among the other evil apes
Then the small slice of the knife
Bleeds out the victim slowly
Before healing can take place
A voice inflection conveys meaning
Obscure to all but the victim
Who carries it forever in memory
From infinite destruction
Intentional desecration
Institutional persecution
To verbal obfuscation
We are cruel
We are evil
We are tormenters
We are human…
