Radiance of scarlet
Streaks of blood in the summer sky.
Tissue wisps of tendril thin
Waving in the lost blue.
Day’s end, picture beginning
In the eye, in the sky,
A great canvas, ever-changing,
Hanging out there so high.
Rivers turquoise rolling violent
Divided, connected, spewing forth
Uncountable strands now solid
Unified as glassy stone.

A child’s watercolor set
Spills out its random hues
And yet, a pattern emerges
From the chaos of glow lost.
As evil conquers good
And fills the sky with darkness,
Timeless hope lingers onward
With millions of tiny lights.
