It all comes crashing down
Unexpected
Unforeseen
Unwanted…
A lightning stroke burns
Searing the sky
Taking its victim
Away
In a flash
Cars crash, bloodied victims
A collision, an impact
Bodies battered
In an instant
Then gone
Bombs rain from the sky
Strike random buildings
Blast through the windows
Leaving nothing
But death
The loves of our lives taken away
For no reason,
Just bad luck
Just fate
Just bad timing
When the word reaches you
Dread fills the heart
Grief, sadness, fear
And all sorts of anguish
For the loved one you’ll never see again
Though we all go, we hope it’s expected
Not random, just normal
Not unexpected, but foreseen
So we can plan
For the end
Loss is much heavier when out of the blue
The blame game is played
Questions abound
As you wonder what could have been different
With but one changed decision
Feel free to cry
Feel free to mourn
Remember the good times
Store them away for when the sadness of loss returns…
