https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2022/08/browns-qb-deshaun-watson-suspended-11-games-fined-5-million-after-nfl-and-nflpa-reach-settlement.htmlBEREA, Ohio -- Deshaun Watson, the most controversial player in the NFL and the Browns $230 million man, will be eligible to play the final six games of the 2022 and try to help the Browns get to the playoffs and Super Bowl after a settlement was reached on Thursday.
The NFL and NFL Players association agreed to increase Watsons suspension from six games to 11, and fined him $5 million. He must also commit to mandatory evaluation and treatment for his disturbing pattern of behavior.
His original six-game suspension, imposed Aug. 1 by NFL Disciplinary Officer Sue L. Robinson, was six games for multiple violations of the policy involving multiple incidents of sexual assault according to the NFLs definition.
It means Watson will return Dec. 4 against the Texans, where his entire sexual misconduct controversy began. Jacoby Brissett is set to start in his absence.

(20,608 posts)That creates more of a conundrum for the Browns. If Watson was suspended for the full season, they may have gone out looking to acquire someone with more upside than Brissett. If Watson was only serving six games, the Browns would probably have rolled the dice on Brissett. But at 11 games without Watson, it will be interesting to see what moves Cleveland makes, if any.
I would have been fine with Watson serving a full season, but 11 games seems more fitting than 6, at least.

Look for Amari Cooper to start whining around Week 4.
