(20,382 posts)So long ago that 31 players on the Cowboys' 53-man roster weren't even born yet.
The last road playoff victory for the Cowboys was the 1992 NFC Championship Game (played on January 17, 1993) at Candlestick Park.

Jerry Jones is the reason why the Cowboys haven't been back to the Super Bowl in decades.

(8,698 posts)That should be the NFL's theme song. Dallas isn't alone with the churn at head coach.
Carolina fan checking in.

in quickly jettisoning that receiver who got in his face, and the team has shown some promise. Meanwhile, I'm a Raider fan and I'm miserable as our dud of a coach, on his second go-round as a head coach, inherited a playoff team and got the top receiver in the game and one of the top running backs, but has failed miserably and just benched the QB and thus scapegoated him as the reason for the Raiders miserable season.
I wish the owner would churn him.

(8,698 posts)He's a .500 coach after inheriting a mess. He may be home-grown, but he's solid and respected and the devil we know.

(8,640 posts)Turned each position from size to speed. Just like his championship Miami Hurricanes. Jerry wanted the credit he had little to do with. This year will repeat recent history. Too bad, so sad.

(57,941 posts)and let the GM do his job, which will be better because Jerry has been GM since the '90s with no results.

(6,737 posts)That they follow Dallas stats more than their own team. It never ceases to amaze me the obsession and hatred displayed.
Ive been watching football since 1968. I saw a lot of heartache, and a lot of great moments. I saw games in the Cotton bowl, Texas Stadium, and that new monstrosity.
I know quite a few Cowboy fans on DU who wont come out here because they dont want to put up with all of your bigoted shit. To make a post such as this is such a waste and so acceptable here.
Well, let me end with this. Yes, its been a long while since Dallas has won a Super Bowl. But you know what? Its actually a year older when SAN FRAN WON IT ALL. And also, Dallas is 5-3 in playoff games against San Fran.
I have seen more cockiness about San Fran going to destroy Dallas. And they still might. But in my 61 years in my life, Ive had a great time and have felt honored to be a fan of the most valued professional franchise in the world. So, go on hating. It just shows an obsession that just shows why Cowboy haters arent quite right in the head.

(20,382 posts)I was a Cowboys fan from 1963 (the year the Dallas Texans left for KC) until 1989 (when that jerk Arkie fired Tom Landry and Tex Schramm). I haven't been a fan of any NFL team since. I lived in DFW for 19 years. I have never even liked the Denver Broncos in all the 42 years that I've lived here. I loved the Cowboys until Jerral Jones ruined it all. Even Tom Landry (who lived near me) became a Giants fan.
"Bigoted shit?" Wow! I like to make fun of the Cowpies here mainly because I've got a long running feud with madinmarryland, who never lived anywhere near Dallas but adopted them as his team.

(6,737 posts)And if you dont see how bigoted it is, or how fucking obsessive it is, then you arent paying attention. Guarantee there would be people here who would applaud if a Dallas Cowboy charter crashed.
If you cant see the obsessive hatred, then I dont know what youre reading.

Rooting against a football team is not bigotry.
Shame on you.

(70,306 posts)Haven't won in 36 years, but 3 NFC championship games (won only one) & a superb superbowl, which they also lost.
I'm optimistic that the new president, a true football guy who became a big business football guy, will finally get things on track.
