Eleven days after announcing their divorce from Mike McCarthy, the Dallas Cowboys are hiring Brian Schottenheimer, Dallas offensive coordinator the past two years, the team announced Friday.
The decision follows Cowboys interviews with Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, former Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier and Schottenheimer.
Schottenheimer became a serious candidate later in the franchises search, meeting with club owner and general manager Jerry Jones and team brass first on Tuesday and then again Wednesday. No other candidate received a second meeting, while Schottenheimers conversations with Jones spanned multiple days.

(10,708 posts)Sold its once great franchise to a billionaire that wanted a toy, not long after the Jerry purchase.
The Now commanders, got to rid itself of the little puke, Dan Snyder just a few years back. Now with the help of a great proven coach (last year a Cowboys great DC,) and qualified personnel director and general manager they are coming in on the big win.
I say this as a 50+ year Boys fan. Fuck you Jerry you Trump like power driven ass hole.
You broke your toy, and it will never get fixed until the team follows the lead of Washington. Thats as likely as GQP going back to Roosevelt style leadership.
Never gonna happen.
Go for it Commanders. (I still hate em as a rival when we both were great franchises that went to war twice a year). But I love to see em rub it in Jerrys smug mug.

I guess if being an assistant coach for around 10 teams makes you qualified to run the most valuable franchise in the world then Schottenheimer is qualified. Good luck with that Jerry.
