I am happy for the Eagles for one reason, Defense wins Super Bowls. A lot of people have forgotten that

From the beginning of the game before the Super Bowl era and all the way through the Super Bowl era and no matter how much the league tries to make the game damn near impossible for a defense to play to satisfy the NFL's desperate grab for more viewership by satisfying viewers insatiable (and ridiculous) demand for 400 yard passing games, no matter how much they fuck with the game, DEFENSE wins football games, full stop. It's why Detroit wasn't there, their defense was decimated with injuries. It's why Baltimore wasn't there. Arguably Buffalo was one call away from being there as their defense was better than the Chiefs. It's what gave the Commanders their shot.

Mahomes didn't play bad, none of the Chiefs actually played bad. That Philly's defense kept them off the field and when they were never let them play. Loved it. Not as Chiefs hater (I've been an Andy Reid fan for decades) but I just love perfection in defensive play and the Eagles pulled that off.

Congrats to that the Eagles and especially that smothering absolutely marvelous defense and their defensive coach, probably the best coach nobody's ever heard of, Vic Fangio.

I love the game and this game was won from purity of the games intent. Once again DEFENCE WINS IN THE END!!

1. While the defense for the Eagles (and yeah, I was a KC fan) won the game, they don't get the accolades deserved...

But, I note that the Eagles' defense includes six former UGA Bulldogs from the 2021 National Championship team. That brings considerable happiness to me for their win, as a dedicated UGA fan--as does the fact that the Eagles rejected a WH visit last time around with Trump installed.
