Goofy stance is when you stand so your right leg is the front leg. Regular the left is the front.

As above, this terminology is also used by surfers - I remember hearing "goofy footed"...

I do not know the origin of the derogatory description of lefties.

...years ago. I'm neither a surfer nor snowboarder.
Odd personal story - I am unambiguously right handed, and if I were to kick a soccer ball, I would use my right foot. When I did cartwheels many decades ago as a little girl, I always turned to my left and put my left hand on the ground first. I remember what that felt like, even now and when I try to envision/imagine doing a cartwheel going the other way, my mind just won't go there.
