1. I bought one of those in 1980.

I paid $9000. GM spent $10,000 fixing it under warranty. I used to park it in the bad parts of town with the keys in the ignition, hoping it would get stolen. I sold it for $2500.

It would be 25 years before I bought another GM car.

There wasn't another Oldsmobile diesel parked next to yours, and you didn't find your windshield smashed and the keys for the second Olds diesel inside.

5. If I remember correctly they based it on a gas engine cast iron block.

Not as sturdy as a Diesel engine block. Lots of other problems like fueling..uff.
What were they thinking!!!
