IMO, that makes three "plus" position players for next season. Chapman and Jung Hoo Lee, plus Mike Yastrzemski, all excellent fielders.
No really big bats.

Chapman will earn $25 million in each of the next six seasons and receive a $1 million signing bonus in 2025. The new deal marks the biggest contract the Giants have handed out since Farhan Zaidi took over as president of baseball operations in November 2018, edging the six-year, $113 million pact former KBO star Jung Hoo Lee signed in December. Its also the second-richest deal in franchise history, trailing only the nine-year, $167 million contract extension Buster Posey received in 2013.

"lock him up" to a contract.
I know that Melvin wants a steady lineup, but the personnel situation did not allow this. It's more like a Gabe Kapler "guess who's coming to play today" lineup.
Fans like players who are on the field almost every day. Farhan is still a thrift store shopper (I know that syndrome all too well), can't land the big fish, and has a turnstyle approach to the farm system.
I personally see only the three steady Edfies ( when Lee gets back) and the rest, "who knows". Hitting is poor, and probably the worst in MLB with runners in scoring position. I thing that Arizona is first, or close to it.
Oh well.
Matt's s gamer.
