Ruby-throated hummingbird in today's pouring rain

1. Beautiful! I've got one in my backyard that basically

owns all of the Firecracker Penstemon flowers. Any other hummingbird comes near those flowers and it’s a nasty chase scene. Beautiful bird, but very territorial. There’s like a thousand, red, horn shaped flowers, and no other hummingbirds are allowed to gather nectar. Sometimes that little bird sits in a tree watching and waiting…I can just barely see the little silhouette sitting there on a branch. So cute, but really greedy.

2. Yes I see the same thing, sit in a tree, and dive bombs I've got about three females now

I have about six feeders out there but they always fight over the same one. Quite a display of aerial combat this evening in the rain
