4. Those birds are a good sign spring is on its way.

We get far more Common Mergansers here in the fall and spring, so it's always a nice surprise to see the Hooded on the water.

6. We host them in the winter here in Georgia.

The photos were taken on January 1st.

10. You are lucky to have Osprey couples hanging around.

I only see they as flyovers during migration where I live.

12. Yes, HAVE been lucky, and now awaiting their return; they don't hang around, and this is the usual week

here in southern MD.

I only get to enjoy them during the winter where I live. They will be headed north soon, and I will have to wait till November for their return.
