--- NFL Conference / Opening Spreads ---

Favorite / Spread / Underdog (home team in CAPS)

BALTIMORE / -3.5 / Kansas City
SAN FRANCISCO / -7 / Detroit

https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/

My picks:
Baltimore covers
Detroit covers (S.F. wins)

Wondering if the 49ers/Lions spread would change if WR Deebo Samuels is activated for the game. Niners wisely aren't saying, forcing the Lions to prep for Samuels.

Anyone else?

I wonder if the vet TE pickup by Detroit will help them? GreenWave Jan 2024 #1

which I'm not, I'd take SF with the point spread. I think they win by 14 pts. But don't bet on that.

Detroit has a good offense with big play capabilities. I just don't know what kind of S.F. team to expect -- the one we saw against the Packers or the one we saw against the Eagles/Cowboys.

Detroit will bring its A game, but the Niners will, too. Detroit's secondary is suspect, as is ours at times. Detroit's is more suspect than ours, which is why I think we're favored, besides home field advantage.

I'm expecting a big night for Kittle and Aiyuk if Deebo doesn't play, with a few big plays from Jennings. Should be close in the first half, with the Niners pulling away in the second.

I'm guessing the score will be in the neighborhood of 38-28, with Detroit scoring a garbage time touchdown in the final five minutes.

Take it to the bank, but I take no responsibility for any gambling losses incurred by betting on my predictions.
