(10,864 posts)He says the stupidest shit then he and everyone around him says, he knows.... He read it somewhere. He gets his crap off the rw BS and then struts around as being the "smart" guy. Watching him over the last yr, he is my least fav and so happy to see him be loser all season while blaming everyone else.

(18,071 posts)He was a great athlete. His teammates loved him. He did a lot of charity work. He was never someone who was in trouble with the law or who abused women.
When they brought in another QB (Jordan Love) in 2020 he freaked out and he did it publicly. Surely he knew how Green Bay does things - they invest a lot in a QB before letting him start. But after that Rodgers started whining to the media about every decision the Packers made. They deferred to him a lot, but he wanted to be in charge. He's a diva.
I'm not someone who listens to athletes except maybe for the 5 min talk after the game, and I don't usually do that. But Rodgers apparently became a media darling with people like Pat McAfee and Joe Rogan. He moved from talking about football to being an expert on EVERYTHING.
He told Wisconsin media that he was immunized against Covid, and then he got Covid and missed playing in the Chiefs game - so GB lost. Well, it turns out he had used a homeopathic remedy and did not get a vaccine. So he lied. That was really the beginning of the end. Heck, there were people on the team whose family members died of Covid.
And it went on from there. If it was weird he had to try it. I think the Packers were lucky to get rid of his contract. The Jets were stupid to take him on. And now he is just embarrassing. His achievements are all behind him and he's still hanging on.

(10,864 posts)I like Pat McAfee, watch them often and yes have seen him there often. You are exactly right. And that Covid issue really pissed me off.

(2,828 posts)Of course I have bias because I'm a Lions fan who laughed every time he got sacked. Especially during that last season he was with the Packers. To which I've asked since I was a kid: WTF is a Packer?

(2,828 posts)Whereas A-a-ron is 3-8 with the Jets this seaon? That team would have better off throwing that money into a bonfire.

(14,870 posts)interesting. Maybe he has taken so many hits to the head, it has caused some brain damage. Multiple hits to the head does cause brain damage. They are now finding some young players (high school) who have never had concussions have small changes in their brain.

(18,071 posts)I don't know, maybe he always was one but the stuff he did after his football career was hard to get past.
I think some people don't handle the fame well. Maybe they like it a little too much and they think it means something it doesn't.
So, you're really good at football - so you think that makes you a doctor, a politician, a tv show host, etc. Nope, you're just really good at football, and just for a given period of years. That's it.
I'm not saying its not CTE, but he doesn't seem to be showing the symptoms yet. I'm not sure how common it is in QBs.
