(1,937 posts)4. figgured as a last ditch, since most of us carry probably carry paracord...
and 3-4 knots (1 locked sheepshank for a 'basket') it'd make an improvised hunting for 'emergencies' (or fun at camp)
something like below
loop---slinglenght1--sheepshank(locked)"pouch"--slinglenght2---squareknot
and i found one recommended length... with arm at 45 degree down angle behind oneself, get approx 4 inches clearance to the ground with sling hanging down (held with stone in basket ready)
i'll have to work on accuracy (skill) but just playing around i put a golf ball 100 yards down field

this then draw the end (one on each side) though the loops to lock it ending up with a 3 string 'basket'
