This Is Why You Should Never Put Your Phone in the TSA Bin, According to Frequent Flyers and Travel Experts

Once when I was traveling and had to my passport still in hand while approaching security, the TSA person told me to put my passport in the bin rather than waiting for me to zip it into my purse. Never will I do that again. I worried the entire time that someone would snatch up my passport.

I'm not really faulting the TSA person. I know they are supposed to keep the lines moving, but as they say; safety first.

their shit's been "five finger discounted" so they don't report the theft and we don't get the proper credit.

I think the newer x-ray scanner machines with the long intake and outtake tubes make for a more orderly process with the bins. but yes I slip my phone into by bag when I got close to the bins.

Had my phone in my bag. Guy told me to put it into a bin by itself. Luckily, traffic was light in the area. Was not amused.
