As long as they stay out of my face and off of my toes, I'll stay out and off of theirs.

They try to dictate what people can and can't do, based on their own beliefs. That's been going on for a couple thousand years. Surely, you've noticed.

I worked with a real "gem" who informed one of our Jewish co-workers that she'd better just learn to accept this is a "christian country".

She was also a world class Islamophobe. What she didn't realize was that our manager was a 'lapsed' Muslim. No doubt, at one time or anther, she had voiced some of her vile rhetoric, in front of the manager because it was her habit to drop little 'gros mots' during casual conversations. Then, during a meeting, the manager announced that we should know she was returning to her faith and would now be wearing a Hijab and following the traditions of her faith.

I managed to restrain myself from pointing at this creature, and emitting a loud "HA HA!!!"

Saving the unsaved, and preaching to the deaf. No doubt she had her reward...

She had some sort of ongoing litigation going on, with the company and was genius at finding loopholes in the contract so they couldn't fire her. Well, more likely they were too scared and incompetent to fire her So she said (and emailed) what ever she wanted, and despite the countless number of complaints filed against her, the worse that happened was she'd get written up.

She was actually the reason I retired 3 years ahead of my plans. I was a particularly favorite target, for political reasons, and I just couldn't take it, anymore.

to call down the wrath of anybody except yourself, but are you capable of at least a little tactical smiting?

When performing an exorcism, saying "The power of me commands you!" doesn't have a very compelling ring to it. Of course, an atheist probably wouldn't be performing an exorcism anyhow.

Sometimes you even see DUers issuing warnings to atheists that they might regret a lifetime of blasphemy once they meet their maker.

Ironically to them the only unforgivable sin is denying the existence of their imaginary friend. So if a good Christian had a bit too much of the communion wine and ran over an atheist on their way home from service, the Christian still gets paradise as a reward while the atheist burns for eternity. Kinda funny how that works.

Then again you can see why it's the secret to their success. Perpetuating an irrational fear of non-belief insures repeat customers and keeps the collection plate full. Skepticism is the greatest threat to their organization.
