Help me out here, astro pros... Jupiter rules Republican party?
That's what I've been told: Jupiter.
And that I don't get:
Jupiter is Big DAddy, and is jovial, welcoming,
happy, optimistic, and generous... see the issue?
Oh I know Republicans see themselves as patriarchal,
but in an oppressive, denying kind of way.
"MY way or the highway.."
And conversely, I've heard that SAturn rules the Democratic party:
Saturn? Stern, rigorous, disciplined, demanding...??
I look at the present Republican party, and see a lot of Capricorn:
the demand for hard work, support for the 'successful' (rich)
and scorn for the poor.. and who rules Capricorn? Saturn.
I look at the Democratic Party and see a lot of Aquarius:
visionary, accepting, diverse, inviting, and not taking any crap.
Who rules Aquarius? Uranus....
Enlighten me please, AStro pros!
I'm missing something here

(3,794 posts)They are Cancer Sun, Scorpio Moon
IF that chart is right and the time
and if so, they are ruled by the MOON IN CANCER, that explains it all

(2,185 posts)and all I have in common with the Republican party is the
love of home, secrecy and a love of family...
there are lots of dimensions to interpreting the astrological
chart, planets, aspects, etc....
Moon in Cancer simply amplifies the 4th house tendencies...
But I'm still stunned by the ingrown hypocracy of a once
important expression of the American landscape.
Each sign, each planet, each aspect has good interpretations,
and negative ones. But we've fallen down the rabbit hole...

(3,794 posts)If I say that John Wayne and Robin Williams and Canada are Cancers, it's impossible for
you to relate those Cancerian qualities to you.
Best if you read "The Exquisite Zodiac" which defines clearly the Cancerian archetype which the Rep party
is manifesting the very worst side of. Moreover, they abuse the Scorpio energy to the nth degree.
THat's the only way I can explain it.

(2,185 posts)Gotta think about that one,
but, I must admit, his 'personna' as per HOllywood,
is probably way off...
I most admired his role in "The Man who Shot Liberty Valance'-
which now seems very cancerian/masculine.. if possible.
Robin Williams? Oh, yeah, Cancer with strong Gemini...
John Wayne... hmmmm

(3,889 posts)Jupiter equals fat cats, Gilded Age, the very rich,
And Saturn was equated with the poor, the working men and women, those who have a harder time.
Jupiter is more hype, Saturn the hard truth.
I agree though, the associations don't hold so well anymore.

(3,794 posts)Saturn pays for everything being the "father" of the zodiac, the dutiful and responsible one.
