Free Article: Taking a Serious Look At
Saturn in Scorpio 2012 through 2014
by ADMIN on SEPTEMBER 29, 2012
Transiting Saturn enters the sign of Scorpio on October 5th, 2012 and the transit lasts until approximately December 2014. Saturns symbolism suggests taking a serious look at
in this case, the themes of Scorpio. With a Saturn cycle of development, we take a look at the deepest inadequacy or fear and transforming that into strength and mastery. It is a phase of maturity too, on that helps us incorporate patience and perseverance. Saturns transit through Scorpio, suggests that each individual and group will have to become responsible for addressing and clearing out their personal underworld. One must take responsibility for ones choices, actions and behavior before transformation can occur.

(5,198 posts)Saturn in Scorpio: For You Are the Cosmic Shape-Shifter (an excerpt)
Today, we step through another gateway. Saturn and Mercury, arm in arm, will enter the deep transformative waters of Scorpio. The work of reshaping reality is about to become very serious. This reshaping starts where everything doesinside of each of us.
We dont normally think of Saturn as a shamanic energy. We think of him as the ruler of structures, boundaries, and effort. Hes also the ruler of the world of form. In truth, nothing is more shamanicmore shape-shifting and infused with intention and energythan matter. When Saturn is in Scorpio, we begin to understand the tremendous energy and life-changing power of our deepest desires.

Happy Saturn in Scorpio
By Mary Plumb | October 8, 2012
We are committed to keeping readers up-to-date on the political front, so I will begin with (just) three blogs on current U.S. politics before moving on to Saturn.
Nancy Sommers writes on The Presidents Chiron Return at Starlight News Blog. During the September 20 to October 20 phase, Chiron is accompanied by some stressful Saturn transits to the presidents chart, suggesting the wounds are sharp and the struggle to overcome them difficult.

(3,794 posts)is consider that Saturn is completing its 28 year cycle through your houses. As Saturn goes through your 12th, it is
time to put your OLD SELF out to pasture. You will cross the "start/finish" line when Saturn conjuncts your ascendant.
Then you should feel EMPTY. This is normal. I see many clients during this time. The old you will be gone, and the new you
just getting started. Much emphasis will go toward making your body leaner and meaner too. I encourage you to
read Saturn books by Marc Robertson; he was a great expert on Saturn transits.

(5,198 posts)I was hoping to hear from you, awesome advice, and will look up Marc Robertson too.
I really want to understand this transit, it feels heavy and karmic. My instinct has been to surrender and be willing to let go of the illusion of control. Life for me feels like another incarnation already, nothing is the same--people, place, health and things are completely different from just 4 years ago. Saturn in my 12th house saw a lot of endings and culminations and did feel like the end of a cycle.
I don't fully understand the effect of mutual reception that Saturn and Pluto are now in, I want to learn about that too.
It may be time for another consultation with you, I sure got a lot out of the last one!

(3,794 posts)it simply means that planet A is in the sign that Planet B rules, and vice versa
it makes their link stronger
minor point.
Saturn thru the 12th house is very important because Westerners don't take time to reflect and just keep on pushing.
wrong
reflect on the past x years that Saturn has been going through those houses. THE SUCCESS OR FAILURE THAT YOU
WILL ENCOUNTER ON THE NEXT GO ROUND IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO HOW WELL YOU PUT THE "OLD YOU OUT TO PASTURE" and learn from your past mistakes and successes.
It is VERY NORMAL to be feeling like you don't want to contribute anymore, the old you is done
oh and, it IS very karmic and the key to benefiting during the 12th house transit is to surrender, but you must
be careful, because, there is no you to begin with - get it? (there never was)

(5,510 posts)for over a year now & have been like a tennis ball reflecting on my past during this time. I've questioned EVERYTHING I've ever done & vacillate between what was good & what wasn't. Still don't have a good handle on where I stand at the present moment. Hopefully I'll achieve some clarity b/4 my Saturn transit next Dec. forces it.
With Scorp rising & 6 planets in fixed signs (3 in Scorp) plus Chiron, these next few yrs should be "interesting", huh?

It's good, the snake is shedding its skin, think of it that way.

(5,198 posts)Observations: Saturn in Scorpio Advice
Judging from the comments people are leaving, I thought Id offer more information for the different signs on life with Saturn in Scorpio. First of all if you generally live by Saturns rules anyway then Saturn transits often up end being no more than fine tuning. You know . . . behave responsibly, pay your bills on time, be a dependable friend and lover, be respectful and dont make too many rude gestures when frustrated.

I have Saturn at 0 degrees Scorpio, with my Sun at 6 degrees Scorpio and Mercury at 29 degrees Scorpio. So I'm embarking on a major Saturn return.

(13,428 posts)Hubby is a SERIOUS Scorpio with his Sun at 25 degrees, Merc at 6 degrees, Venus at 20 Degrees and Saturn at 13 degrees.
My assumption is that somebody like him with ALL that lovely Scorpio energy would be impacted differently than a lot of other people. What is the opinion of all you learned Astro folks? Does he need to view this Saturn return any differently than the rest of us???

(5,198 posts)--to make that quantum leap to the big picture--this is what amazes me when I have a session with a good one!!
My ascendant is 6deg Scorpio so Saturn is still in my 12 house till end of November, which feels right. At this point I have *no idea* what is next in my life...it is a trip, I feel like I'm on the edge of a cliff.
I love hearing from everyone, there is so much to learn from each other.

(273 posts)Saturn just passed into my 12th house, crossed over my natal Venus and is sitting directly on top of my natal Pluto. I've still got a bit before hit nails my natal Saturn (13 Scorpio), but I'm feeling the effects of it already. Got some major life changes coming up in the near future. The real questions are what needs to change, how do we go about it, and where do I want to be at the end of it all?
And as an odd aside, the number 13 is starting to pop up in different places. The address of my job breaks down to 13 by Numerology. I just got a raise... to $13 an hour. Then there's that natal Saturn placement up there...

(5,198 posts)What I remember from my first Saturn return was that I learned what I was and was not capable of. Many people look upon this process as negative, being shown what you are incapable of, or what you do not want or need in your life. Yet learning where you leave off is very empowering--because what is left is --you-- what you want, what you are good at, the beneficial relationships, and life can become very clear. Saturn energy is just very sobering, and serious.
I guess everyone has their own experience of a Saturn return, this was mine

(273 posts)I managed to work up the courage to face the first boondoggle head-on; now I have to have the patience to see how it pans out. The limbo in between really sucks, though.
I'm not looking at this as a negative time. It's a shedding of the old ways to make room for the new, never a bad thing. Unfortunately it's a rather painful transition because I cherish so much of what I'm clinging too. But, here's to bigger and brighter futures! By the time I land on my feet again everything should be okay.

(14,881 posts)so it was hard to sort the two out. A friend who is a gifted astrology told me at the time the worst of what I was experiencing was due to Pluto in Scorpio, not Saturn.
For me, after a decade of drifting, I got a temp job that led to full time job that led to a 17+ year career. I met the man I would have a deep spiritual relationship with. At the end of Saturn in Scorpio, after years of moving around, I bought a condo and settled down again for 17 years in one place. A group of people at work were drawn together on our intranet -- an early version of the WWW -- and formed a forum called Arcana, where we jointly studied and shared our New Age experiences and learnings. That, I think was due to Pluto in Scorpio, though. The group's strongest period lasted about 7 years, until ongoing layoffs tore us apart.
On the health front it can affect bones and teeth. My wisdom teeth came in late and severely impacted. The infection went inward and septic, so it was a dramatic experience. I learned that health insurance doesn't mean squat and my dentist saved my life. If I hadn't been scheduled for x-rays for that 6 month check up, it might not have been caught in time.

(273 posts)I'm not sure what's going to happen with my current job. I love what I do and the people I work with, but the 70-mile daily commute is killing me. Not so much for the drive, but for being so far away from home. I miss out on a lot with my kid for it. There's a few big things that have to be sorted out first, but I'm starting to look at what I love most from my work (the printers, really) and how it can be applied to a more independent career. (Screen printing t-shirts looks very attractive right now...)
Thankfully I had the good sense and insurance to get most of my teeth fixed this year! There's still a bit of work left to be done, but the rotten molars have been removed, before they had the chance to go seriously infected.

(14,881 posts)The short commute is the only thing it has going for it
I am looking again at trying to sell my minifarm. I love it *but* it fails on every test I had for my farm. No place to trail ride, and Dahli is ready to move on to that step. Not sufficient land for my next step. No decent riding arena to progress in that part of her training. The "sunroom" faces west/north west. Red village.
So I need to restructure for the next 30-year phase of my life, but have no idea how I'm going to support it beyond social security which, thanks to the W years, will be half what I'd anticipated back in 2000 along with having lost 2/3s or so of my savings.

(21,718 posts)please forgive my ignorance. so, is this transit happening now, the same that happened 28 years ago? because 28 years ago, i made a decision that essentially changed the entire direction of my life. i got divorced and moved hundreds of miles away with my 3 young children to go back to college. is that what i'm looking at now, another lifechanging event? fwiw, i have a scorpio sun and ascendant.
