Hecate update

we're getting closer to opening (2/2, although media night is 2/1) & I'm getting excited as all get-out. The scenes with the witches are really coming together & I've got high hopes that the rest of the show goes as well too. My costume is still being made & since I never saw a mark-up of it, I have no idea what it's going to look like other than "spectacular." I've also been given a staff to use, which has been fun to play with.

Please keep our show in your good thoughts & keep sending us all good vibes to stave off the "curse" of this show. Everyone is working so hard to make a great run of it!! Thanks for all your support thus far as well.

If anyone picks up on how Hecate herself feels, please let me know. I'm a bit to call on her myself, afraid I'll tick her off unintentionally.

Very no nonsense. Ditch any of those 'frail old lady' stereotypes. She is strong and wise.

I will continue to think good thoughts for you and your performance.

I think my favorite part is where we get to mock MacB in 4:1. We get to cackle & a fellow cast member told me the sound sent chills up his spine.

and tho not a whistler, did whistle back stage at a non-MAC production. Thought an older male actor was going to have a heart attack and told me that that will curse any production. lol. I refrained from doing it again, but yeah, makes me want to whistle back stage...

Makes sense though, since there had to be a way to send cues around a stage before electricity & intercoms

I found a really long description and informative article on Her...there's some nice symbols in there too...be sure to click on the link at the bottom for symbols, etc...

http://www.goddessgift.com/goddess-myths/greek_goddess_Hecate.htm

Don't know why but I got the idea or concept that you should either wear her 'stones' or have one ion your pocket during the performance... and either take the stone or jewelry and keep it next to a black(?) or purple candle three nights before the show... just to give her homage and prayers before the event... hmm...maybe even leave some offering out...?

I know you will be fantastic, and the rest of the show will be too...you will have lots of FUN! that's the impression I get...

he hit a deer while driving on the highway a couple of weeks ago (maybe a week & a half ago--just found out about it). Completely unavoidable, oncoming traffic & semis in the right-hand lane (it's a 2 lane highway except for some passing zones, which he was in at the time). Said the deer just was just standing there, didn't try to run or anything. No one was hurt, except the deer which unfortunately died. His wife thinks it's part of the curse. I'm not so sure, but I do think Hecate is involved somehow.

I'm scanning the link right now...I'm on my way to bed, but I do want to say that I told the production team about the owl & supposedly it's being worked into a headdress. Since I haven't seen my costume yet, or a mark-up, I don't know what it's going to look like. I do have a staff & we're still kicking around ideas about it. It might be topped with a huge crystal to catch the light (an allusion to the torches she traditionally carries as we are not allowed to have live flame onstage).

:sniff: my costume isn't ready yet, so they only had me do a voice-over. The witch in the promo is First Witch.
