Today is my birthday and while it's important, it's doubly important because I went into
hospital 365 days ago this morning. I knew I was sick but not to the extent I was. Turned out I had stage 4 cervical cancer and abdominal gangrene, I wasn't supposed to survive the night and then the hospital stay and then to March. Instead, God had other plans and here I am a year later, still kicking with both legs!!
Sometimes, I have to admit that as much as I've been through, it seems like a dream and my husband has been kissing me and touching me to make sure that I really am here because of my doctors told him. I'm 48 and I plan to be here for at least 39 years more. I'm thankful to be here with all of you because there really was a time when I wasn't sure I would be able to spend time with all you lovely souls again.
I'm not out of the forest yet, still alot of trees to see. I'm sure it's going to be a little more traipsing through the this thick growth of trees but with your prayers and God's grace, I'll make it through, I can see glimpses of the meadow. Nothing worthwhile is easy and I like to think that this is just another test I have to undergo for the life contract I made with Heaven. I will not be surprised to see a few more storm clouds pass but I WILL NOT be afraid to face them and maybe even shake my fist at them.
One of the things I was looking forward to resuming was posting and reading the posts here on the Astrology, Spirituality and Alternative Healing Group and thought of all of you alot. Cancer is a monster but it isn't so big that I don't believe I can slay it. This is the first birthday of my new life A.C., (After Cancer) and I plan to use every moment I can loving and learning from all of you. I am well and truly blessed to have been allowed to come back to DU and all of you.

BTW, my oldest daughter just went through a year of cancer treatment for stage 3 breast cancer, and she is now cancer free. I was with her all during her treatment, and if you ever want to "talk", I would be honored to talk with you.
Congratulations on conquering this hideous disease. I'm so happy you have made it through, but I'm also sorry you had to go through it in the first place.
