when is Merc RX over????
My stoopid computer is finally crapping out on ALL levels!
First, the battery stopped holding charge, then the cord stops working (and replacements are $150 and $70 respectively) so i borrow a cord from a friend to get by...and now HALF the keyboard refused to work this morning. I thought i'd clean it, but that's not the case, so i had to go get a cheepo USB keyboard to use with my laptop in the meantime. My mom wants to come up and buy me a new computer tomorrow - but now i am worried that the Merc Retro curse will make that one a lemon, too...
any advice?

(29,135 posts)April 14th, when Mars goes direct. Phew! If I didn't think things could be in total chaos by then, I would be more excited.
that's not very comforting
I guess I'd better be careful about buying a new laptop... but it HAS to be done, this is NOT working at all...

Dear GOD, is there nothing these Rxs have not messed up?

(14,270 posts)is that where i look to see what house it's hitting for me?
edit: i looked up it's retro in Aries...which for me is the natal 7th house and opposed to the 2nd, partnerships and posessions...lol, ya, i'd say my computer and i are a partnership alright!
BlueIris
(29,135 posts)And yes, that is how you find out which house it is in. Astro.com (the Astrodienist site) has a feature that lets you look at your natal chart plus transits. You just need to get a free account there. It is a very helpful site.
FirstLight
(14,270 posts)but cant understand the diagrams for shit!
if it's in Pisces, i think that's my 6th and opposes my 1st...which is worse because i have lots of natal planets in both
either way, i have to get a new computer today...so please wish me well that i can find something that is NOT a lemon!

(21,046 posts)I don't have much energy because my allergies make me very tired. Everything is blooming now. This happens twice a year, Feb-march and Sept-October.
Don't know what to do. Can't take prednisone. Took too much of it last year b/c my doc would NOT discuss proper dosages with me and so I took too much and got my ass in a sling--landed in the hospital for eight days in ICU on Thanksgiving.

(31,478 posts)Is there another drug that might help? Is there something over the counter that helps, even a little? Can you find a doctor who is not a butthead?
FirstLight
(14,270 posts)feel better, and hope your bday can have a do-over! hope you can find some natural way to treat your health stuff?

(2,649 posts)Please check out an allergy specialist. Mine has helped me so much, and on the very rare occasion I have to take Prednisone, she and her nurses monitor the dosages and explain everything very carefully to me.
There are good doctors out there who actually care for their patients.
murielm99
(31,478 posts)teas that can help, too. I thought I remembered that, so I googled around. They are out there!
I can't say that I have any experience with that sort of thing. Maybe someone else does. But an herbal tea might help, if it is the right thing. If not, it is still soothing and relaxing to take a break and drink a nice herbal tea.
Please feel better!

(8,423 posts)I wanna say Fennel Seed? Is that right? But it was also supposed to be good for allergies..
If it's not Fennel, it's something else that starts with an F. I know there is a natural remedy that will ease your symptoms.
Maybe you can celebrate your birthday properly when you are feeling better. Still, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

(10,170 posts)I was having hell with cedar allergies in Dec so I did a bunch of herbal remedies that usually worked... but not so much this year. I tried a homeopathic tree pollen remedy and had great results!
I'm still celebrating birthday week! Hope you are, too!

(21,046 posts)I drank some chamomile tea a few nights ago and woke up with elevated BP and a headache. Probably allergic to that.
There is an Indian lady in the nearest town big enough to have a hospital and specialists that seems to be quite conscientious. She's an allergist. Her name is Lakshmi. Now is that not cool? The Hindu goddess of prosperity?
I've been skin tested and I'm allergic to all sorts of stuff like pollen, animal hair, blah de blah and have some food allergies that restrict my diet. Oh and I was raised in a filthy house with inadequate air conditioning. A couple of window units. Didn't help my immune system. We had an eighty pound rough collie that was a house dog and slept on her own sofa.
I always feel crummy in Feb-March and Sept=October when everything blooms.
Thanx for all the good wishes!!!

(3,794 posts)Mercury and Mars are direct, 2 weeks
FirstLight
(14,270 posts)sounds like the shit will REALLY hit the fan then... sheesh!
the past week was pretty mellow for me, but maybe that's cuz my daughter was home sick and I wasn't "out there" much... this week, all bets are off...
Ricochet21
(3,794 posts)Since it will take 2 weeks until Mercury and Mars are both direct, past experience documents
clearly how when one buys something during this time, you'll likely have to return it.
I can't tell you how many things I'm having to do over now.
Sometimes it can't be helped though. Follow your gut, I guess.
RX planets are nutso.
FirstLight
(14,270 posts)but do things and go forward, even when the planets are in flux. I guess that's why the Re-do part happens.
so far, my new computer is better than the old one, so maybe it's going to be okay
It's weird, so much of this year has already felt like it is moving SO Fast!... is it going to feel even faster and crazier once things go direct? yikes!

(3,794 posts)With Mars retrograde backing up to an exact opposition to NEPTOON, I don't think anyone will be able to
think straight for a week or two, just guessing

(8,423 posts)is usually...
something...??
Otherwise, not sure I've been thinkin straight before!

(3,794 posts)Mercury went direct this a.m.
All 3 are fixed.
Happens every time.
agenda 21.
(12 posts)on Amazon and seeing how much they charge for replacement batteries and cords? I need a new battery, also, and when I read the reviews, the $39.95 one is apparently much lower than the version Dell sells.
FirstLight
(14,270 posts)but I'm borrowing one from a friend for now... ended up having to buy a whole new computer because after fixing the power issues, 1/2 the keyboard and the mouse went to hell...
so ya...stupid computers, too bed we are so addicted to our technology!

(7,212 posts)From Batt Pitt on amazon.....37.00. Works fine....even lasts longer than my original HP one did.
I got 3 hours instead of the HP 2 gave me......I am happy with it so far....it's Chinese...but parts of the original were also.
