How many here are attending church virtually this Sunday?

My small Mennonite congregation is holding a service on Zoom in about 15 minutes. People are starting to come in ....

This is different for sure!

We did it last week. It was much better than I’d expected. We’re also having a Lenten discussion via Zoom later. That went very well last week.

In my church’s online service. 2nd week now. Was nice, comforting and sad at the same time. I’m fairly new at this church (my previous church closed) and just starting to feel at home there. Last week was supposed to be my first time helping serve Holy Communion. Hope I get to do so someday.

I am so pissed, how in the fuck is this being allowed to happen. I almost hope a lot of them get sick for their utter stupidity, but they will pass it on and a lot of people will get sick that wouldn't have otherwise/ If it were someone I knew that went there, I'd definitely not get within a mile of them or any of their family or friends. Fucking Repug idiots trying to kill everyone!

... a 10,000 person Baptist service was reported a week or two ago. It's not yet the highest confirmed cases in the country, but did you see how dark red it was with those unusual thermometer readings?

And I speak as a native! This time it's within 10 miles from where I live and I just can't express my utter contempt and fury at these assholes pretending to be people of God.

... sometimes attend three different churches. One, very small and without resources, is simply sending out documents for the sermon and scripture and announcements and encouraging families to worship together. Another, a large liturgical church is live streaming a complete service with just the officiants present, no choir, but an organ. They stay 6 ft apart. The third is also liturgical, but has shifted to a piano at someone's home with two singers. They use software (Zoom, I think) that shows the faces of all those present. We're choosing that 3rd option, as it gives us more of a sense of participation. But it's not possible to hear everyone singing, as it doesn't synch. Is that what 5 g is all about? Would it synch if we all had 5g?

To my mind this is a deadly combination of ignorance and arrogance. I chose not to participate.

I've never taken Mark 16:18 as an invitation to be stupid.
