Related: About this forumThere is no genocide, no apartheid, no occupation - Natasha Hausdorff
Not sure if many are familiar with Triggernometry, a you tube channel that addresses a multitude of topics, I think with generally a slightly conservative slant but open minded and fair questioning.
Natasha Hausdorff is a British lawyer and eloquent spokesperson for Jews, casting these terms of genocide, apartheid, and occupation as modern blood libels against the Jews. Its longish (75 min) but compelling rhetorically, and to me, demands a response from the knee jerk reaction of Israel simply as evil, and raises real questions as to the intentional anti-Jewish agenda informing most opinions worldwide these days.

(6,370 posts)The aim of that 1948 resolution was always to create a two state setup, with well defined borders and neighbours living in peace alongside each other.
It went wrong, and not as intended.
To say 'There is no genocide, no apartheid, no occupation' just flies in the face of the current situation.
But denial followed by accusations of anti-Semitism is required to make it all seem 'normal'.
Fairly standard 'Hey, we are the Good Guys here!' rhetoric.
Some see it differently.
"International Court of Justice calls on Israel to end occupation of Palestinian territories 'as rapidly as possible'
The case was referred to the ICJ by the UN General Assembly in December 2022. The judges declared the Israeli occupation 'unlawful' and reiterated the Palestinians' unconditional 'right to self-determination.' "

Those that have swallowed Hamas and other Islamic propaganda hook line and sinker will never change their opinion no matter what additional facts are thrown their way. Do me a favor, be a good Democrat, have an open mind, take a listen to this, and lets have a discussion rather than tell me what you think flies in the face of the current situation, when in fact, you probably know a lot less than you think you do.

(6,370 posts)I can't see how the large scale deaths of civilians can be justified.
If that is discussed at all in that lengthy interview, please let me know.
I cannot see past that point.
I watched a few minutes.
By all means argue the semantics of the words used - genocide, etc.
Used correctly or not?
But those are side issues. Side issues that obfuscate the bigger picture.
Nothing to say about the International Court of Justice opinion, I see.
It's a complex situation, and I'm not taking sides. Most people seem to be doing that though.

(17,558 posts)Gazans are dying because of the Hamas attack on Oct 7 where the terrorists wantonly murdered Israelis and took hostages.
The Palestinians by LAW are supposed to negotiate a permanent settlement but instead engage in terrorism and propaganda.
Hamas refuses to surrender and release the hostages because the media keeps telling them they are winning against the Jews.
