Christian Activist: We Must Trademark the Rainbow Because Gays Have “Raped” It
June 29, 2017 by Hemant Mehta
Linda Harvey, an anti-gay activist with the group Mission America, has a long history of saying despicable things. She believes teaching tolerance for LGBTQ people is akin to the “grooming a pedophile does before molesting a child.” She even wrote a book that takes into account absolutely nothing that we know about LGBTQ people and perpetuates her own bigotry. Naturally, she believes she’s on the “right side of history.”
Her latest Jesus-inspired rant? She thinks Christians should copyright the rainbow because those damn LGBTQ people have “raped” it.
Quote:
But the sweet rainbow image has been violated, raped by the deluded and fraudulent, and it now serves too often as a garish signpost for slavery to grave homosexual sin.
…
Yet millions are being misled by this wicked movement, and it’s especially heartbreaking that so many are children and teens. I wonder if perhaps it’s time for believers to claim the rainbow again, by legal means if we could.
Can we trademark the rainbow? Of course, it’s probably impossible and perhaps even inappropriate.
…
An appropriate rainbow for the “LGBTQ” sin identity front would look very different, featuring colors like brown, puce, mauve, gray and black — lots and lots of black.
Depressing, uninspiring, empty, leading nowhere. Satan’s banner.
Endquote:
I always appreciate when Christians tell everyone the Good News…

(16,636 posts)1. To trademark something, you must prove that the design is related to your corporate identity and that it is in active use. For example, T-Mobile has trademarked a certain shade of pink, because their corporate logo is a "T" in that color. But there is no christian imagery that uses a rainbow.
2. The Bible say slavery is good.
3. What about other religions? The norse religion also has the rainbow as a religious symbol: the bridge from Midgard to Asgard

(7,579 posts)You can own a color. Heidelberg owns that ugly shade of green. With today's court, I suppose they could claim the bible as first use. It would be quite a road to get there, and they'd be laughed at every step of the way.
