As expected, whole flocks of idiots prayed for Hurricane Harvey to go away, and then some got slammed anyway.

I'm sure there were probably a few that blamed the storm on ex-President Obama, and some were blaming it on President (gag) Trump. Some blamed it on homosexuals. The usual lunacy.

Pastor Naranjo is simply lucky he and his church survived. I'm assuming the church survived.

Fortunately, our new home on South Padre Island survived without a scratch, but it sure was touch-and-go there for awhile. You go to sleep and the storm is just a disorganized mess and wake up to a Cat 1 hurricane that is headed right for you. We evacuated. Fortunately it drifted further north and slammed into the coast just east of Corpus Christi (the "body of Christ" for those keeping score).

Hurricane Harvey: Pastor Refuses To Evacuate Family, Says God Will Provide

Pastor Freddy Naranjo says “something miraculous will take place” so there is no reason to evacuate before Hurricane Harvey hits.

Speaking with Corpus Christi reporter Kirsten Crow, Pastor Naranjo of Tabernacle of Praise Church explained why he and his family will not evacuate, and instead will remain in town during the hurricane:

We’ve faced some tougher and harder winds in the past… I think you know again we just keep praying and believing it will slow down or something miraculous will take place…

I believe this: Many times we move by fear instead of believing God can do something supernaturally, that’s my take on it.

Bottom line: Pastor Naranjo seems like a nice man, but he is not a smart man. Only a superstitious fool would believe that “something miraculous will take place” to protect his flock and his family from Hurricane Harvey, or any other natural disaster.

1. He will likely appreciate the flooding, predicted to be biblical.

He will also likely assume it's happening worldwide, such is the working of the superstitious mind. He's going to be awfully disappointed in the next week or two and the power is back on and he finds it was only his part of Texas.

2. It is so hypocritical when I watched some of the residents effected by the storm on TV

and they say, "I prayed and prayed and God listened to my prayers. See that tree that fell over and almost hit my house. My prayers worked and that is proof". OK, then why is it that when the same prayers to the same God do not "work" and there is harm or damage to someone? Was he too busy listening to someone else's prayers or maybe you are too big of a sinner to deserve prayer results. What are their answers to this..."It was God's will" or "He works in mysterious ways"?

I shake my head and wonder...."Huh?".

3. Yes, he's basically saying, "Fortunately, it devasted Rockport instead of us."

Like the people in Rockport don't matter, either to him or to his god.

So Rockport deserved it. Is that how it works?

4. Something miraculous did take place: Satellite weather detectors warned him to evacuate . . .

A technology wholly unheard of when Christ walked the Earth, Pastor Naranjo was (in a manner of speaking) hearing a voice of God tell him to get his fool ass out of the way of a coming hurricane. Moved by superstition, however, he ignored the message sent from Above and chose to place his faith in puny human frailty.

What a schmuck.

And to think, he bade his family to partake of his madness as well.

throw dice at a craps table. And you know what? That's exactly what happens! By the will of almighty god it's a miraculous win or a miraculous loss... Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord!!! Halleluja! It's a miracle. Time to go back to the casino.

7. This Reminds Me of the Old Joke

There was a terrible flood. A guy had to climb onto his roof to escape the rising waters.

Another man came by in his rowboat and offered to take the guy to safety. The guy refused saying "God will provide." The man in the rowboat left.

A couple hours later, with the water still rising, the police came by in a large motorboat. They said they were there to get the guy to safety. Again he refused and said "God will provide."

After a while, a helicopter hovered overhead and dropped a rope ladder. The guy refused to climb the ladder to safety by telling rescuer "God will provide."

Well, the flood rise so high that the man was swept off his roof to his death. At the pearly gates, he asked Jesus why he did not provide for his safety.

His reply was "I sent you two boats and a helicopter! Why didn't you leave?!"

8. You can bet Pat Robertson won't miss a chance to blame this all on some group he hates

Gays and lesbians would be my guess.

And then of course he'll raise some big bucks off of it.
