Atheists & Agnostics
Related: About this forumBecause I'm atheist I shouldn't enjoy movies like Constantine?????
This isn't the first time I've heard this but it boggles my mind.
I was setting outside last night enjoying the cooler temps, letting my dog run around the dog run watching Constantine on my phone. One of my neighbors was out too. Asked what I was watching, told them.
"But your atheist. You all don't watch stuff like that" was their reply.
Where do people come up with this stuff about atheists?

But it's not rare for people to be atheists or nonreligious.

(14,180 posts)I also enjoy the MCU movies movies. As we as movies like the Omen series, The Exorcists, The Ninth Gate and a majority of the horror movies.
To each their own.

(14,180 posts)I've been told I'm not Atheism right by so many.
Apparently I'm supposed to watch and read books about science all the time, to be unhappy all the time, to be ready to debate and argue all the time, to not care for the pain and suffering in the world and so forth.

(24,145 posts)But then, I also like Keanu Reeves. Flame away! I also like Raiders of the Lost Ark, and all kinds of other fictional movies with some supernatural elements. The Bible is fiction, written by the power-mad who wanted to control the masses--kind of like trump.
I'm an atheist.

Atheism is just not believeing in a god, but some of them gives the impression that they read an instruction manual that we all suppose to follow .
Docreed2003
(17,851 posts)For anyone who isn't aware, John Constantine makes an appearance in the original run of Sandman. Neil Gaiman made an interesting choice to change it up a bit for the series and I like the change quite a bit. If you like that type of movie, I'd strong recommend checking out "The Sandman" on Netflix.

(54,901 posts)It was VERY enjoyable and interesting.
My husband is a HUGE horror fan; me, not so much. I will, sometimes, watch them (love "The Exorcist" and "Silence of the Lambs" ), but I am prone to watch them if they are in a foreign language.

Now, give me a horror film with a crazed serial killer or a virus or a natural event and Im all in.

(14,180 posts)Magic shows are slite of hand, smoke and mirrors.
Supernatural movies are acting and special effects.
Both forms of entertainment has me wondering how they do that and ends up with me researching the tricks and/or effects.
For me, watching the show and quenching the curiosity is all part of the fun.
