(24,753 posts)As soon as it got to the question "Do you use your 5 senses..." blah blah blah, I knew where this was going.
Does anyone remember that dipshit from a few years ago named "Sye Ten Bruggencate"? He was this dopey apologist that made a splash on the interwebs because he used this kind of argument against Atheists until he got picked apart by Matt Dillahunty and a few others. He subsequently "left the ministry" because of a so called "moral failing" which turned out he was probably forcing himself on a woman (or more than one) and it was about to be made public.
Anyway, this idea that Atheists actually do believe in god because your senses can not tell you god doesn't exist or some such nonsense is what this line of questioning is about. It "Presupposes" that god exists and that you can not have a moral compass without knowing this.
It is an extremely circular and fallacious argument.
