60% of Americans do not believe God exists or that He "affects lives"!

Barna: America needs 'spiritual renewal' as fewer than half of Americans believe God exists
'Nothing short of sweeping national repentance and spiritual renewal can save America from itself’

“…. Nearly half of self-identified Christians (47%) and a slightly smaller share of theologically identified born-again Christians (40%) said the same. ...When asked what they believed God provided to them, a majority of those who believe in God cited Him as a source of hope (72%), comfort (71%), peace (65%), guidance (64%), compassion (60%), joy (60%), mercy (58%) and purpose (54%). Smaller shares of respondents listed God as a source of miracles (47%), opportunities (41%), security (38%), responsibilities (33%) and power (31%). Less than one-quarter of those who believe in God think He provides identity (24%) and boundaries (19%). ...The data in the report is based on responses collected from 2,100 U.S. adults in January. The survey has a margin of error of +/-2 percentage points. …”

This data shows that god botherers are emotionally and cognitively stunted individuals who never matured to adulthood. Their delusions have filled their need for a parental figure to comfort them and solve all their problems. That’s a maturity level of childhood. And the declining number of those afflicted explain why the Mango Malignancy has not mandated weekly church attendance or a nationwide abortion ban. Without the power of the priests chanting magic mantras to compel obedience through existential fear, the state can only rely on raw physical and emotional threat to compel a uniformly obedient populance.

This data may also explain the Maga cult of Trump. The sentence quoted above could easily be written as “…..When asked what they believed Trump provided to them, a majority of those who believe in Trump cited Him as a source of hope (72%), comfort (71%), peace (65%), guidance (64%), compassion (60%), joy (60%), mercy (58%) and purpose (54%). Smaller shares of respondents listed Trump as a source of miracles (47%), opportunities (41%), security (38%), responsibilities (33%) and power (31%)….” Perhaps the conclusion can be drawn that Magas have the same psychological needs as the and have projected the same delusios onto the Horror that occupies the White House.

People who identify as "Christians" should start acting like them and maybe others would be inspired by their example to have more faith

know is The One True God?

A huge part of the problems we have, politically and socially, are mainly because too many people want to force their religion on everyone else. "I don't believe in abortion, so you can't have one, even if you die or are crippled as a result." "Other races are inferior." "Women are less than men." And so on.

Fear my friends. That's a factor so the poll is not objective. How can you be objective facing eternal damnation.

Then, let's see if they are as keen on not believing.

As the saying goes, "There are no atheists in foxholes."

Atheists in Foxholes, in Cockpits, and on Ships

MAAF maintains a roster of Atheists in Foxholes, just in case there are any rumors that we don't exist. The next time you hear someone repeat that old myth, just send them here to see how atheists have served honorably in combat - always have, always will…..

Besides the MAAF members below, keep in mind atheists in foxholes whose stories have been in feature stories and documentaries: Pat Tillman, Afghanistan war Army Ranger and football player, Hans Kasten, WWII POW leader, Phil Paulson, Vietnam Veteran and activist, Kurt Vonnegut, WWII POW and author, Ted Williams, WWII Veteran and baseball player, Ernest Hemingway, WWI Vet and author, Sherwin Wine, Founder of Humanistic Judaism, Major Sidney Excell, who arrested Heinrich Himmler, Bob Kerrey, former Governor and Senator, Navy Seal, and Medal of Honor recipient…..

MAAF has thousands of members, and this list is only a small subset of those who have chosen to speak out publicly. Member information is strictly confidential unless a member explicitly requests public recognition. If you would like to have your name listed here on this page, Join MAAF for a template and instructions.

Please forgive the late response. I’ve been under the weather.

My point is that people are always about principles until they are forced into a situation where they have to either own it or show that their position is just an opportunistic way to garner appeal. I am aware that there are many atheist in the military.

Feel better soon!

So true. Todays “Christians” do not believe in the Beatudes or any of the more ethical ideas that are accredited to Christianity.
