(12,632 posts)Is just that people are at home with nothing to do, so they're setting off fireworks. Makes sense. They have access to them at this time of year, and with lockdowns and places closed, it is cheap entertainment (if illegal).
I haven't noticed it in my neighborhood in Phoenix.

Since outfits like the he Boston Symphony Orchestra don't need tons of fireworks this year, they gets sold to those that want them. In Chinatown the fireworks are easy to get, including the big blasters.
