My Aunt passed away this morning.

My mom's sister. The first one on my mom's side to go. She and my uncle didn't have any children. Have to see when the funeral is going to be.

It's especially hard when the siblings start to go, especially the first one.
Kind of slaps you in the face.
You realize you're part of that generation that's at the top of the heap.

i hope your uncle will have someone to turn to, lean on, & cry with in the upcoming weeks and months. he could be feeling pretty alone right about now. i hope he is close enough (in physical proximity as well as emotionally) for friends and family to reach out to him--frequently.

and my heart goes out to your mom. this is a pretty significant and difficult change in her life.

Another Aunt and Uncle live about a block from him. Most of the rest of the family lives nearby.

He said she had a pretty difficult and painful last month so he was a bit relieved when she passed.
