Related: About this forumI think I might be going through a midlife crisis
That sounds so melodramatic, but DAMN.
For the last two years I have been on trial.
Not because I broke the law. Because I had to deal with an assault trial and nowl it feels like an insurance company trial. A few days after a headon collision, I got back a positive test for cervical cancer. Gotta wait til Dec 11 to see my doctor for a colposcopy and cone biopsy.
My body hurts from literally being hit by a truck. I'm now feeling the emotional chaos like a truck.
I'm so tired. So beaten down. I'm 38. Is this what they call a midlife crisis?
ETA my best friend (he's 70) is having heart surgery today. I don't have many friends, but he has been a mentor and life teacher. He taught me to play the guitar and cuss in five languages. Please send DU magic dust his way.

What you're dealing with would be enough to knock anyone over.
I'm really sorry, and I wish I could offer more assistance than words on a message board, my dear backtoblue.

(11,744 posts)I know people in the world are suffering so much worse, but I'm barely functioning. I have a teenage son to raise and my doggie and cat. They're being very supportive, but I'm finding it difficult to communicate with any of them right now.

(11,744 posts)I've been picking my guitar on and off today. It's like every song I play reminds me of someone or something.
As the old text says "this too shall pass"

(1,362 posts)Similar situation.
Bought house. Repair before sale done badly. Black mold in house. Everyone got sick. Had to demo first floor.
Son 1 went to concert, someone flung bottle hit him. Brain damage. Went to ER and ended up in jail. Hospital wont release scans.
My 80 yr old parents stole money committed fraud (i was victim). When company they defrauded found out parents did so, parents called and threatened me to cover for them (they are rich narcissists). Got call on recording. Then while Im trying to deal with an all out assault from parents the old sob pulls a gun on my son with witnesses there on property my grandparents left me. Multiple felony issues.
Meanwhile husband diagnosed with a scary form of the c word.
Juggling multiple lawsuits as a result of all of the above.
There better be a heaven cause things suck here.
