SOUTH DAKOTA
1. GET REGISTERED

Get registered to vote with your current name at your current address 15 days before
any election. That means by October 22, 2012 for the general election.
You can get your registration started right now: http://www.GottaRegister.com

the United States government;
• A tribal identification card, including a picture; or
• A current student identification card, including a picture, issued by a high
school or an accredited institution of higher education, including a university,
college, or technical school, located within the State of South Dakota.

VOTE ABSENTEE :
Any registered voter may vote an absentee ballot by mail, beginning 46 days before
Election Day. The County Election Official must receive your application for an
absentee ballot by 3:00 p.m. on Election Day (however, we recommend allowing
yourself at least one month before the Election). The completed ballot must be
returned to the County Election Official in time for it to be delivered to the polling
place before polls close.
For the latest information on where, when and how to vote absentee see the website
of the South Dakota Secretary of State.
