...to the brutal feudal order imposed on Tibetan peasants by the Dalai Lama and the landlord class before the Communist takeover. Starving and illiterate peasants were kept in a state of miserable subjugation with maiming, blinding, dismemberment and other torture to enforce the corrupt rule of elite monks and landlords.
